USCIS has announced that the filing fees for applications for adjustment of status are going up $165.00 on Feb. 1, 2013. Right now the total fees are $985.00 for the I-485. The fees will soon be $1,150.00. If one is planning on becoming a resident and is eligible to file, filing before that date will save them some money.
